In 2016, Jon and Heather embarked on their journey with Oak & Darling, driven by their shared passion for crafting functional, exquisite home decor and furniture. This family-run venture is dedicated to transforming wood into timeless pieces that bring joy for generations. There is no lack of creativity when it comes to Jon and Heather. This husband/wife team comes from a background of photography, film and graphic design, and both of their full-time careers are based in those industries. Jon is a Media Technician for a local school board (doing all the photo/video work), and Heather is a full-time photographer. After lots of home renovations at their old place, they moved to a new town, and thankfully now had a bit more garage space to play with. That garage space quickly filled with tools and everything needed to do even more renovations to their new home.
While Oak & Darling started as a website to document their adventures in building and changing their space, that quickly turned into an outlet to create handcrafted products. Their small business took off quickly, and over the next couple years they added even more tools to expand their offerings. They are constantly looking forward at new ideas and continue to be inspired by their children, the outdoors, and the natural beauty of wood.
Jon and Heather have been so wonderful to work with! They listened to our ideas and created a beautiful heirloom table for our cottage. We are excited to spend family dinners and make memories there!
